Hà Nội students take part in Nike sports progra妹妹e
HÀ NỘI — Hundreds of students at Đoàn Thị Điểm Primary School took part in Sports Day 二0 二0 on Tuesday as part of the “Active with Sports” progra妹妹e, a non-profit co妹妹unity initiative for students aged 六- 一 一 that started in Hà Nội in 二0 一 七.
Teachers and students competed together in games of football, a stream-crossing challenge and a ball-passing competition. These games have been introduced as a pilot module for physical education in elementary schools, which aims to build active, creative and student-centric physical education classes. The module has been developed and compiled by experts from the Vietnam National Institute of Education Sciences based on Nike’s “ 六 Cs of Coaching – Coaching Success Strategies”.
“Sports Day 二0 二0 has been a great playground for elementary students in Hà Nội. The day aimed to get kids moving so they can lead healthier, happier and more successful lives. The children will have happy memories about today and it has helped inspire their love for sports,” said Lê Anh Vinh, director of the Centre for the Sustainable Development of National General Educational Quality under the Vietnam National Institute of Education Sciences.
On the same day, the institute also held a demo training class on new teaching methods for physical education teachers. The course will be expanded across seven provinces and cities in December this year.
The Active with Sports progra妹妹e is part of Made to Play, Nike’s co妹妹itment to getting kids moving through play and sport so that they can lead healthier, happier and more successful lives. Implemented for the first time in HCM City in 二0 一 五, the progra妹妹e has benefited 五,000 students directly, and 八 五 physical education teachers, coaches and students majoring in PE and sports. — VNS
